Charles River Historic Walking Tour

Date: Sept. 3, 2017

Location: Meet at Landry Park at 154 Moody Street, Waltham, MA, 02453.

Noon - 1:00 pm: Historical walking tour about the industrial revolution and a wildlife talk led by the Waltham Land Trust.

1:00 - 1:30 pm: Tour of the Watch City Bike Lab and talk with the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation at 154 Moody Street.

Description: East Coast Greenway Alliance and its partners are hosting a historical walking tour, wildlife talk, tour of the Watch City Bike Lab and talk with the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation on September 3 from noon to 1:30 pm.

Waltham Neighborhoods Fall Festival

Date: Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017

Time/Location: 1-4 pm on the front lawn of the Waltham Public Library at 735 Main Street in Waltham.

Description: The event is completely free and every year there is great entertainment, free food, and activities.  If it rains, the event will be moved inside the library.

There are several performers lined up and the current stage schedule is:

1:00 - ZUMBA

1:50 - Diamond Family Circus

2:30 - Jeff Jam, children’s musician

3:05 - Guy the band

3:30 - Adam Sickler, musician

Information from the Waltham Health Department:

The City of Waltham Board of Health will work together with residents, business owners, and other City Departments to promote a better understanding of rat/rodent behavior and how to minimize their presence and impact on the community. Our inspectors are committed to rodent control and providing educational information to the public. By working together we can keep our neighborhoods clean and healthy. There's no way around it! To send the rats packing we all have to work together.

Public Help Needed: Reward For Information On Cooper Street Arson

Fire officials asked anyone with information concerning the Cooper Street fire to contact the statewide arson hotline, at 1-800-682-9229 with any information. There is a reward of up to $5,000 for information regarding the alleged arson.


Additionally, the property owner and general contractor, Callahan Construction Managers, is offering an award of up to $100,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those allegedly responsible for the fire.



Along with the Waltham Land Trust, we would like to say a huge "Thank You" to everyone who came out and participated in our Moody Street Clean Up this past Sunday! We had over 40 participants and cleaned up an estimated 25 full bags of trash and litter! The Waltham Land Trust and the The City of Waltham stocked us up with gloves and trash bags... and Lizzy's Homemade Ice Cream gave out Coupons for Kiddie Ice creams to kids 10 and under who came as well.






Storefront Improvement Program sees more businesses improving their outward appearances!


Sept. 21, 2016 - The continuing results of the Storefront Improvement Program (SIP) are impressive. New signs have gone up at Joco's Bar and Kitchen at 450 Moody Street, Suman's Salon at 396 Moody Street, Marcou Jewelers at 318 Moody Street, Los Primo's Barbershop at 459 Moody Street, and Leo's Place Diner at 655 Main Street.


The Storefront Improvement Program is a pilot program of the DWP which provides grants of up to $5,000.00 for exterior facade improvements such as awnings, signage, windows, etc. The program is funded through the City of Waltham Planning Departments using CDBG funds.
